MRM Studios brings you Eat Rich Quick, your more-than-the-usual cookbook
From a photo album manager to a joke generator, Apple iPhone and iPod touch applications function as gateways for fast-developing technology in the 21st century. Just when one thought reading a paperback or a magazine is restricted within the four walls of a library, there is now the innovation of the e-book application which allows users to read literature on their own iPhone or iPod touch, anytime and anywhere.
Moms-on-the-go and foodies can now benefit from this Apple innovation with the rise of e-cookbooks. Internationally published cookbook author Norma O. Chikiamco launched her own e-cookbook viewable on the iPhone and the iPod touch. Entitled Eat Rich Quick, this e-cookbook showcases recipes by Chikiamco herself that are easy to prepare minus the compromise of good taste, health benefits and quality. “While I’m a firm believer in the merits of slow-cooking, there are times when quick and easy meals are the order of the day.” Chikiamco noted in the introduction of her e-cookbook. “Because we are all busy, cooking often becomes a low priority in our lives. And yet we need to eat well.”
Just like the good old cookbook we have in our kitchen shelves, Eat Rich Quick’s presentation mimics that of conventional cookbooks that we all grew up reading. The pages, formatted to fit the iPhone and iTouch screens, are composed of clean lines and simple, easy-on-the-eye design. Each recipe is accompanied by a respective vivid photo of its finished product and also includes a link to a grocery list page which lists the staple ingredients in the kitchen.
Eat Rich Quick readers are also entitled to post their reactions and comments to the recipes, interact with the author herself through e-mail and read her online blog through the Cooks’ Community page included in the application. Exclusively published by MRM Studios, Inc., the Eat Rich Quick application is readily available for 99 US cents per download.
